The organization of educational process and teaching work

The educational process is carried out on schedule. The content of the standard and work plans, typical and working curricula of specialties, methodical support of the educational process, the maximum amount of student workload comply with the requirements of state educational standards and modern requirements of training.

During the practical training, multiple interactive teaching methods, developed bacterial drugs, microscopes, culture media, etc., are used to develop students’ practical skills and their evaluation; movies, videos, presentations, multimedia lectures, animation etc. are provided. The computer class is equipped with 5 computers, 10 computers with educational software (electronic textbooks and multimedia presentations on various topics, training tests), one interactive whiteboard, there is always access to the Internet.

Individual work plans for teachers are available. They reflect all kinds of work: training, teaching, research, educational and organizational. All individual plans are completed and signed by the head of the department.

The academic staff, the administration and the students have to stay informed about the orders and recommendations of the WHO, the Ministry of Health, MCI and all other competent authorities and organizations, and to observe all anti-epidemic measures and standards, as well as to use personal protective equipment.

The forms of control and evaluation system are in accordance with the requirements of the discipline program and the instructions of the system of evaluation based on the system of the educational process, approved by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

A special attention is paid to clinical thinking ability and work with patients. We use the following structure of clinical study:

  1. Interview (complaints, medical history, and life history).
  2. Direct study (examination, percussion, auscultation, palpation).
  3. Analysis of instrumental and laboratory tests.
  4. Differential diagnosis.
  5. Final diagnosis.
  6. Plan of preventive activities

The educational process is based on the principles of science, humanism and democracy. It organically combines educational and scientific activities, the connection of theory and practice.

The schedule of the educational process determines the calendar terms of semesters, classes, exams, internships, vacations for each year of study according to a certain educational program. It includes the preparation of attestation works, final attestation of students.

One of the effective methods to make the educational process more active is the method of a problematic exposition. This method enables to arouse student’s interest and to involve him/her to the process of learning. The efficacy of the method is explained by the fact that certain issues can be touched upon by the students themselves. The main success of the method is that a lecturer or instructor solicits the audience “to solve on their own” the given issue.

Interactive learning cases represented in the form of web application are commonly used. Interactivity is provided by immediate reverse response. As a rule interactive case includes illustrated material and video material giving imagination about patient’s problems which are solved in the process of advancing the case. Such an approach to learning enables to thin wider. Cases in the form of illustrated interactive materials are presented gradually. These materials may include the findings about a virtual patient from a certain case: anamnesis, results of examination etc. First of all, the user gets many-sided information about the patient with application of videos, animation, pictures, diagrams and sketches. In a certain number of steps, he/she obtains the possibility to choose one or another action, indicate examination, and make a preliminary diagnosis.

The interactive learning of MBBS/Medicine has gradually involved more and more supporters in practical work of both general and professional education, since it makes the educational process more motivated, productive, emotionally rich, personality-developing and of higher quality.
